My focus is at the forefront of providing a welcoming environment for my clients. My approach to counselling is highly person-centred with an understanding that no individual is the same. I believe we should take our time in overcoming struggles and hardships. Mental health is something which cannot be rushed and requires delicacy as well as efficient support to ensure positive outcomes are achieved.

Therapy Methods:

Counselling

What is counselling?

  • Counselling is a form of therapy designed to enable an individual to speak about their thoughts and feelings within a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, to work through any concerns of problems they could be facing.

  • Counselling is a proven method with 1 in 5 Britons having experienced mental health related issues – turning to counselling to combat feelings of stress, anxiety and depression.

  • Counselling tends to take place once per week for 50 minutes for a duration of 6-12 weeks. Although, here at PATH counselling this can be extended should a client require further support (based on 6-week assessment reviews).

CBT

What is CBT?

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy based on helping individuals manage their problems and altering their behaviours to cope with them. This method is commonly used to help clients who have anxiety, depression and substance misuse.

  • CBT commonly takes place once a week over a duration of 6-20 weeks, each session lasting 50 minutes. PATH Counselling gives clients the opportunity to access counselling should it be necessary upon completion of CBT (based on weekly monitoring and review of assessments).

  • Statistically, over a period of around 8-15 sessions the majority of people find that they are actually able to overcome their depression and anxiety.

Here at PATH Counselling we do not believe in limiting the amount of support you may
need. That is why we offer clients the opportunity to extend their support based on their
needs and regular assessment reviews.
